Motor vehicle accident kills Prince George's County moped rider

In a tragic and fatal accident, a 56-year-old man was killed in Prince George's County after being struck by oncoming traffic while riding his moped. This horrible news sends shock-waves of grief through the unfortunate man's family and no doubt every Prince George's County resident can sympathize for their loss. Sadly, these kinds of motor vehicle crashes happen far too often in Maryland.

According to police, the Baltimore man was driving his moped down the 7400 block of Temple Hill Road, in the early morning hours, when a Chevrolet Cruze struck him head-on. The rider suffered fatal injuries when the impact threw him from his motorbike. He was rushed to the hospital, but shortly thereafter doctors pronounced him dead.

As of yet, the police have neither faulted the moped rider nor the driver of the Chevrolet Cruze for the accident because they are still investigating the incident. Whether or not driver's negligence caused the accident is still unknown. Regardless, it is an unfortunate event for all concerned.

Prince George's County residents are well aware of the dangers we all face on the road. Unfortunately, no amount of diligence and care can prevent every unexpected accident. Furthermore, the lost employment wages, and the hospital and medical services can be financially devastating for the victims involved.

However, victims of accidents can contact a qualified personal injury attorney to pursue claims for financial damages and compensation for pain and suffering resulting from traffic accidents caused by the negligence of another. An attorney can also help family members pursue damages relating to the death of their loved ones. In any accident where serious injury results, all parties would do well to consult with an attorney experienced in personal injury law and procedure, including wrongful death actions. The lawyer can answer important questions, assess liability and pursue claims against any party whose wrongful conduct caused or contributed to the injuries sustained.
