Anne Arundel County crash leaves two dead

Unfortunately, the choices of negligent drivers can result in the deaths or serious injuries of others. Authorities are investigating whether negligence can be blamed for a car accident that left two women dead in Deale, Maryland.

The accident, which occurred at 8 a.m. on Sunday, has left two dead and another seriously injured. A 32-year-old female from the Dundalk area was driving when, for reasons unknown, her car drifted off to the side of the road. She overcorrected, sending her car across the median and into onward traffic. Her car then collided with another vehicle, driven by a 43-year-old female and occupied by a 61-year-old passenger. Upon impact, the passenger was ejected from the vehicle. Both the passenger and the driver of the first vehicle were fatally injured in the collision.

The driver of the second vehicle was critically injured, but no information has been released as to the details of her injuries. Maryland police are continuing their investigations into the accident, and are, at the time, incapable of saying whether the negligence of either driver, such as speeding or driving under the influence of alcohol, played any part in this deadly auto accident.

While police are unable to comment on whether negligent driving was a factor, it is oftentimes a cause of serious car accidents. When drivers make choices that distract them from giving their full attention to the task of driving, such as texting of using cell phones, they create the risk of causing a serious accident. In the event of an accident, the negligent driver would be liable to pay damages to the injured parties.

Even with careful drivers minding the road and following the law, accidents can happen. In the event that an accident happens, victims and their families would be well served by understanding their legal options.
