Collapse leads to construction worker's injuries

When you are at work, you expect that most areas where you're working will be safe. In some dangerous jobs like construction, small errors or damage can lead to serious injuries. On Jan. 9, a report about a construction accident hit the news. Maryland readers might have heard about the construction collapse that resulted in construction worker injuries in Pennsylvania; unfortunately, the worker's condition has not been released to the media.

According to the news, the worker was injured when wooden roof trusses on a building that was under construction collapsed in Bucks County. The collapse took place at around 9:00 a.m. on Jan. 9, according to the news, and was near the 2300 block of Heritage Center Drive.

When the collapse took place, the worker was trapped under the wooden framing of the roof. Authorities reported that the worker was trapped under the rubble for around an hour, and the worker was injured in the accident. Once the worker was able to be removed from the scene, he had to be taken to the Temple University Hospital for treatment; the extent of the worker's wounds were not discussed and his condition isn't known. Now, the investigators are interested in finding out why the building collapsed.

Construction sites are usually dangerous, and special precautions should be taken to make sure workers stay safe. If you have been injured while working on a home or commercial building, you may want to speak with an attorney about your legal rights. You may be able to seek compensation to help pay for your medical bills and other damages.
