Deadly work accident in Maryland investigated

Maryland-based readers may have heard about this horrible industrial accident. According to a Dec. 31 report, an industrial accident that took place at Reynolds Excavating resulted in the injury and death of a 73-year-old man. According to the news, the man was driving a dump truck when it overturned, killing him.

Reports claim that the long-time county development contracting company Reynolds Excavating specializes in demolition and excavation. The truck was owned by the company, and it overturned when the man was driving. State police reported that the Caterpillar 725 dump truck was found in a ditch, and it was partially submerged. The man was fortunately removed from the vehicle by co-workers on the scene who also called 911. The accident happened at around 1:50 p.m. and the man was flown to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment. Only a short while later, around 3:00 p.m., he was pronounced dead. Authorities were not sure how long the man was in the ravine before they arrived.
