Tractor-trailer crash causes other collisions in Maryland

Commercial vehicles, such as tractor-trailers, are widely used by various industries for transporting different types of freight. The presence of trucks on roads and highways is at an all-time high. In Laurel, most motorists probably watch out for trucks, like semis and tractor-trailers, because those vehicles can cause catastrophic accidents.

Auto accidents involving trucks often result in serious injuries that can lead to fatalities and life-changing disabilities. Liability often falls on the driver who caused the accident. Negligence needs to be proven in order for the accident victim to obtain the compensation to which he or she is entitled.

Recently, a truck accident occurred north of Prince Georges,in Frederick, Maryland. The driver of a tractor-trailer veered off the road and struck a guardrail before crashing into the bridge's abutment. The debris from the tractor-trailer crash caused another collision on the same road.

Other details of the crash are still pending, the condition of the truck driver and the extent of injuries sustained by the drivers whose vehicles collided because of the debris are still unknown. In this accident, it is clear that the truck driver lost control of the tractor-trailer before the crash occurred. Considering this, the truck driver is likely facing liability for the accident and the ensuing damages. In addition, his employer may also be liable for the damages resulting from the accident.

A truck accident victim may file a personal injury claim following an accident. If the accident victim is physically incapable of filing, the victim's family can file a claim on the victim's behalf. Anyone who is the victim of a truck accident should look into all of their available legal options for getting the compensation that they deserve.
