1 man killed, 2 injured in Maryland construction accident

If you've worked in construction, you know that the job can be dangerous. With the right safety precautions in place, the chances of being seriously hurt can be reduced. Maryland businesses take safety seriously, which is why this report about a man who was killed and two others who were injured was hurt is so unnerving. According to the story, a construction accident near Rocks State Park led to the death of one worker and resulted in injuries to another two.

The accident took place at around 1:30 p.m. near St. Clair Bridge Road and Route 24. There, the men had been working to pick up equipment from the stream bed at Deer Creek. Unfortunately, as the men were working, a piece of the equipment hit a Jersey barrier, and that resulted in the barrier rolling away and colliding with the workers in the stream bed. One man was killed, and two others were injured, a public information officer reported.

The man who was struck by the Jersey wall was taken to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Unfortunately, the extent of his wounds resulted in his death. Another worker was hit by debris and suffered non-life threatening injuries. The third was also taken to a local hospital suffering a medical emergency, but it wasn't reported what the injury was.

Now, the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Department has stepped in to investigate the accident. With situations like these, a thorough investigation is needed to show how the accident happened and how it can be prevented. As a construction worker, if you suffer from injuries following an accident like this, it's important to speak out and seek the compensation you need.
