Alyce

Paralegal

Alyce Clark assists in many of the large and complex personal injury cases for McGowan & Cecil. She has been with the firm since 2014 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Baltimore.

Alyce’s unyielding dedication and assertiveness has been a great asset to the firm. It has enabled her to assist our attorneys in obtaining successful and favorable results. In the past year she has aided in the settlement of over one million dollars in recovery for our clients. Her free time is mostly spent assisting her husband in cooking up elaborate meals for guests or lounging around with her pug, Mrs. Pickles.

Ana

Paralegal

Ana Vera has been with the firm since 2019. Ana has grown from working as our front desk receptionist to coding documents for our case management software to now being our Circuit Court litigation paralegal.

Since 2019, Ana has also worked with other firms where she has gained experience in other areas of law such as Worker’s Compensation, Corporate litigation, and Insurance Defense. Being fluent in Spanish has also made Ana a vital asset to our firm when having to explain the complex process of entering litigation to our Spanish-Speaking clients. Ana’s prior experience interning with the Department of Juvenile Services for Baltimore City and working at nonprofit CASA in Action for Maryland just shows the commitment she has to helping her community. At our Firm, you can count on Ana to be there every step of the way for your claim.

Betty

Accounting

Betty joined McGowan & Cecil in 2004. She serves as the Office Manager and works closely with the Managing Partner on day-to-day operations of the Firm. She was previously a Paralegal at McGowan & Cecil, tasked with complex litigation cases. Prior to joining McGowan & Cecil, Betty worked at a major law firm in Washington, D.C. Betty has many years of legal experience in a wide range of areas. She is very knowledgeable and a great asset to the Firm.

Chase 

Paralegal

Chase  graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication. Before joining McGowan & Cecil in 2021, he worked in the customer service, stage theatre, and education industries.  His thoughtful and compassionate nature brings a personal touch to each case he assists with.  Chase enjoys playing chess, foil fencing, and watching baseball. 

Nathan

Paralegal

Nathan Desjarlais has been working for McGowan & Cecil since May 2018. Prior to joining McGowan & Cecil, he graduated from Anne Arundel Community College’s Paralegal program. Through this program, Nathan completed internships with the Office of the Public Defender, the Maryland Ethics Commission and the Maryland General Assembly. He is happy to bring his prior experience from each to McGowan & Cecil, helping clients achieve the best outcome possible.

Tatiana

Paralegal

Tatiana joined the firm as a Paralegal in 2023.  She has great communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.  Tatiana  is fluent in Spanish.  Tatiana recently earned a certification as a Phlebotomy Technician by NFCE.  Tatiana loves helping people and brings that passion with her to the Firm.  She’s a great asset to McGowan & Cecil.

Daniel

Paralegal

A paralegal with a strong foundation in healthcare and a passion for legal advocacy. I bring a unique blend of skills and experiences that set me apart in the legal field including a background encompassing nine years in the healthcare industry. The healthcare sector allowed me to hone my ability to assist clients in navigating the intricate maze of regulations and processes. During my nine-year tenure, I developed a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and the importance of detail-oriented work. This experience allows me to approach legal matters with a meticulous eye and a firm grasp of the critical nuances of the field. My fluency in both English and Spanish is a valuable asset, enabling me to serve a diverse range of clients effectively. I am a paralegal who combines practical experience with a genuine dedication to clients and the legal profession.

Esteffany

Paralegal

Esteffany Lopez joined the firm in 2023 as a Legal Assistant. Esteffany previously worked in healthcare for 9 years and brings great communication, enthusiasm, and organization skills. She is fluent in Spanish, which allows her to do what she loves: help people overcome language barriers.

Jennifer

Paralegal

Jennifer Kohlhaus has been with the firm since 2021. Jennifer started at our front desk and has since moved to being a paralegal. Jennifer has also worked with a business and tax firm, where she gained experience drafting documents and multitasking. Jennifer has since maintained client files and assisted our clients. She is a U.S. Navy veteran, and her experience helps with attention to detail and communicating with clients. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and son, Joel, and building Lego sets.

Marlene

Paralegal

Marlene Flores joined McGowan & Cecil as a paralegal in 2023. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in banking and helped clients through all aspects, from opening their first accounts to preparing for their first home purchases. Using these experiences, and her fluency in Spanish, she works hard to guide our clients throughout every step of the process.

Tony

Paralegal

Tony Reisinger joined the firm in 2023, beginning with an internship through Anne Arundel Community College and transitioning to a full time paralegal after obtaining his Paralegal Certification. Tony graduated from Washington College with a degree in English Literature. He is also 2nd generation legacy alumni from Mt. St. Joseph High. Tony has spent much of his life serving others, and you can trust that his diligence and empathy will ensure your experience with the firm is more than satisfactory.

Janine

Paralegal

Janine is one of our litigation paralegals, helping the firm's attorneys to shepherd our clients through the court process. Janine has an extensive background in nonprofit and legal work including criminal defense, housing and tenant's rights, community revitalization, crime prevention, commercial real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and general civil litigation, and is deeply committed to helping wronged and injured individuals seek legal redress. When not at work, Janine enjoys all things outdoors, writing and playing music, and throwing the frisbee for her Boggle Terrier, Scrapple.
